I had an idea of modding my ROTEL amps (RC-03 and RB-03) once, since I've read many posts of how a modification can increase a performance of an amp, a soundcard, or a DAC.

However, I have no clue of what one is able to mod to the better with amps or preamps (well also not with the other audio equipment, but I only do care about amps right now).

Also, where can I get the needed materials to do something like that? (I have an old NAD on which I might first play around not to cause any damage, or I just might start out with a cmoy if that would do me good.)

I've never seen anyone speak of modding those components before. But I could be wrong. Basic things would be capacitors in the signal path, and in the power supply.

There's plenty of places to get that stuff in the U.S. but I'm not certain on other countries.

Certainly not a beginners project. One simple possibility might be an opamp upgrade. Start with google and see if you can find any info on other upgrades.
