[Asterix]

digidesign audiomedia III card - I know a piano player who swear by this card. Does anyone know anything about it? Would it perform well in games for pc as well as music?

Discontinued yes...but extremely musical. Digidesign pumped this thing full of the best parts back in the mid 90's when 16-bit converters were being phased out by 18-bit. The audiomedia cards were the only non-TDM hardware available at the time and were pricey but sounded very good. Still do. Get one on Ebay for <100 and you're gonna make a very worthwhile investment. IMO competes with the best comsumer cards out today.
