I just ordered some Ultimate Ears 5 from UE.
I was wondering if there is a difference if you wear them with the cord down or with it around your ear?

Besides where the cord is, is it more comfortable or different sound or what?

Thanks in advance.

There shouldn't be any difference in sound which ever way you wear it, but if you wear it over the ear, it'll eliminate microphonics (sound being transmitted through the cable ie. rustling sounds from clothing) and feel/be more secure. Unless you really don't like wearing over-ear, I'd say its better then wearing your iem down.

When they are down, there is more force pulling on the IEMs, which could affect your seal with movement, and the seal is what makes them sound different in differnt positions for the most part. I would reccommend trying them upright first using the flip-flop mod first, and if you don't like that then wear them down, or possibly use some different tips.

I wear my UEs down, though since they're not symetrical you have to switch the L/R cable around. Cable sucks too rigid & microphonic, hate the memory wire (looking to recable see sig).
Good Luck & Happy Holidays
