difference between t51i and t51p

Hi I was looking at the beyerdynamic t51i, but I also see that there is a t51p there is a huge price difference and I was wondering if there was a difference between the 2 other than one has mic controls for phones?  Also I would be moving from the custom one pros to them and was wondering how they compare and if they are worth the price? Thanks.

You're spot on regarding the difference. Are they worth the price? That is subjective. First of all you're moving from over-ear to on-ear, which is fine if you're only gonna use them for outdoor use. Then there's the sonic differences which I can't help with since I haven't heard either but based on reviews the T51i/p is a very nice headphone. I'm actually considering to buy it myself for the summer.

I don't think the cable is worth the extra price, I would get DT1350 which sounds better to me

OK I see now that t51p were discontinued so that would explain the huge price difference but yeah they sound like a good pair of headphones and I need something a little more portable phones and these might fit the bill.
