I'm waiting for my 40G iPOD to arrive. Been searching through the database but couldn't really find a definitive review of earplug with iPOD. (I could miss a lot of discussions since search iPOD + earplugs or IPOD + headphone yield countless posts)

Is there anyone doing those kind of matching review just yet?

I'm thinking about opting a Shure E3c but not quite sure how is the different between it and stock headphone.

With the price of E3c .. it is a minimum wage in Thailand so.. I gotta think hard on it.

Also.. HD600 + Headphone amp + iPOD doesn't seem really portable for me.

Well you should look at the Ety Er-6i since they are made specifically for the Ipod. They supposed sound very good and can be had for about $125.

I believe that there was a problem with the ER6i tips coming off and getting stuck in people's ears, so Etymotic recalled them. They're working on a fix right now.

I agree that there can never be a definitive ulitimate earbud for the pod - it is such a subjective thing. I have been well pleased with the ety er4p and the sharp md33 though. The latter is surprisingly good for the price and doesn't need an amp.
