Deezer recently removed sorting functionality for playlists and albums (e.g., No sorting by artist or title). Not only this, but it seems your playlist is just randomly organised now.

I'm baffled that this decision somehow went through (apparently it's due to performance issues).

Deezer playlist loading/editing/anything has always been pretty slow, that much is true. This ain't the way to address it tho lmao
Still totally works in a browser, so it can't have been that bad. Or just their app is - at least it's stable. All the more reason not to use the first party one tho 🤷‍♀️

Oh! Is there a third party option? Even the desktop option is iffy for me... For some reason certain songs don't download. I think it has to do with dupes or something within their jank system.

Yes, I also agree that Deezer has a variety of issues. I've joked a lot that choosing a streaming platform is more about choosing the options you're willing to go without, but this sorting removal is crazy imo.

Not super up-to-date on the state of things, given stuff gets abandoned by devs far too regularly - have heard the freezer forks, like refreezer, are supposed to be good tho!

I mostly utilize Deezer to supply my local file collection, since it's historically been the simplest/most convenient for users to do so via; plus there's loads of stuff I listen to regularly that's simply not on streaming anywhere. Nevermind file player superiority, no matter which one really, compared to first- or third-party apps building on their framework directly :D

Limited to the web app in the office though, so still have to put up with their interface more than I'd care to :raised_hands:

Well... Guess what. It looks like they're messing with their imported music system as well. All my covers are gone. Who knows what else they're doing. So disappointed:

Yeah, this sort of thing has truly never been implemented well by any streaming service. Guess it makes sense, but still

GMMP is my go-to mobile player, if you're in the market :^)
