I am looking for a universal computer program to be able to synch my ipod, encode, and play my music. I have narrowed it down to two programs, itunes and media center 10 by j. river. Neither of these players have exactly what I want so I will need to compromise. I am asking for your comments to help me decide.

If I choose itunes, I will be able to encode my music with Apple Lossless, but I won't be able to resample to 192000 with my EMU 1212 soundcard.

If I choose Media Center 10, I will be able to resample with the ASIO output, but I will have to encode my music with alt preset extreme or insane.

Which program should I use???

Thanks in advance

what is wrong with encoding at alt preset extreme or insane?

also, would it be so bad to use both? also, if you're using lossless audio why bother to upsample?
as i understand it, upsampling when playing compressed (lossy) audio files decreases the loss in quality that one obtains when compressing audio with a lossy codec.

with lossless compression no audio quality is lost so why upsample?

someone please correct me if i'm wrong.
