I've seen alot of portable dvd players lately at Best Buy, Circuit City and the like, and was wondering if there are any decent choices for around the $150 mark. I checked one out at Best Buy (a Polaroid PDM-0722) that was $130, and it had the best picture of all the sub-$250 players, and the best adjustments for picture quality as well.

Anyone tried this one out, or have other recommendations?

thanks

I've tried the Polaroid out and it seemed pretty good. I've actually used this at the store several times and I also remember the satillite TV repair people bringing that model DVDP in to test the picture.

I have the Toshiba SD-P1400, and love it! It plays almost every kind of format out there. The build quality of this machine beats the Polaroid no question. Got mine at Boscov's for $149.99.

Not sure, but it will play Files stored on a CD, or DVD. Thaat means that you can put up to around 10 hours of good quality, MPEG-2 video on a DVD! I have only used DVD-R burned at 8x.
