Decent DVD rom as audiophile CD transport?

Along these same lines, is there any consensus on which are the better sounding optical transports in general. I mean, basically brand/model, irrespective of DVD/CDRW/DVDRW/ect. I really haven't seen much discussion on this so maybe it doesn't matter? Thanks in advance for anyone's help.
