Hello all,
My iPod classic finally died, which I used with a Centrance HiFI-M8.
I'm considering a refurbished iPod Touch (256GB) but, I'm unsure if the Centrance can bypass its built-in DAC as it does with the iPod classic.
OR, is there another large capacity player available which would work with the Centrance?
Thanks! - mhado

At Ifixit they have battery replacement kits. If your using the 3.5mm to connect, then anything would do it like a $9 Apple 3.5mm USB adapter. A phone with a big SDcard would do well using USB player Pro.

You don't specify the nature of its death, but EOE sells basically all iPod parts so you can repair and even upgrade yours pretty easily. I especially recommend doing the microSD conversion for up to 1.5TB of much faster storage

Thanks! Surprisingly, it came back to life on a second attempt and a refresh, but the battery is certainly the issue. Anyway, 1.5TB is a mighty incentive, so I'll be checking EOE out. Thanks again

You can further revive it with fostex hp-p1. It's a shame it does not have a balanced connection but the fostex is more portable and bypasses multiple ipod generations and models:
