DCA Noire X - what DAC/amp to use?

This is you mentioning Schitt equipment.

I'll have to just say Schiit IMHO currently makes the most bang for buck product you can get. Mimir + Midgard is unbeatable stack at their price point

Wow. Sounds like you've been watching way too many Resolve videos and not trusting your own ears.

No, but I have done blind comparisons for myself and am aware of psychological influence sufficiently to understand that I should not treat my ears as a calibrated measuring apparatus.

This is you mentioning Schitt equipment.

Correct, and I edited my post when I realised that I had mixed up my comments above, as I stated, however, that comparison was in respect of driving power not sound, there is no mention of sound in your quoted sentence.

You and I aren't going to agree here and it's way too large of a topic to bother going tit for tat in this thread. Especially since it's not the topic that the OP posted about.

Of course we won't, and agreed, but me providing my take on what difference is likely to result from different amplifiers is no less pertinent to the OP topic than you providing yours. They are both based on personal experiences, mine are just different experiences to yours.

EDIT - regarding your last comments. I did not suggest an Apple dongle or any very low power amp was appropriate, if you cared to read before criticising I actually advocated for a Schiit Asgard with 5 watts into 16 ohms as a good option and I believe Dan Clark suggests a few hundred mw is adequate not a boatload.

I'm sure it's great. I've never had any experience with any of their equipment so I can't speak to their quality. I just mentioned them because BS5711 claimed he didn't mention them when he clearly did in his statements.

And I have acknowledged that was an oversight on my part but also stated that the mention of that equipment was not in respect of sound at all despite you talking about a "house sound".
