On my days off I enjoy going out.

I have a friend who prefers to stay in but I like to go out and feel alive!

Pizza with artichoke and basil……yes I know it’s a strange topping

Not so strange. I often add artichoke to pizzas.
It is inevitable that most supermarket pizzas will be designed 'down to the lowest common denominator price', so adding your own toppings will improve things without inflating the cost too much.

Today is pizza day. Woo hoo!

Artisan pizza today with fiore di latte, bufala, ricotta and pecorino cheese.

Excellent crust that reminds me of fresh baked bread.

I eat the crust with high quality extra virgin olive oil that the restaurant gives to the customers. A fine Italian meal.

This pizza goes well with Peroni Italian beer.

Lard

Made some home lard. Woo hoo!

I got some pork fat from a specialty food store.

I then melted it down to make the beautiful lard.

Here’s what it looks like

Amazing stuff. I love lard. Lard is my life!

Having Vietnamese meatball Bánh mì

Thin stick version

What’s different and unusual about this is that it’s the thin version.

The advantage is that it fits into your mouth better. It gives a better sense of uniformity and a more perfect bite.

This is brilliant. It’s like eating a perfect size taco where each bite is well balanced. Sushi master Jiro talked about sushi sizes being balanced and he’s right. I also feel this applies to sandwiches too.

One of the best sandwiches I’ve had this year.

I was skeptical at first but this version really impressed

Had Chinese duck dinner

What’s interesting about it is that it does have a resemblance to American food however this is in the category of authentic Chinese food. Awesome dish

The green vegetable is some kind of Chinese pickled vegetables. I have no idea what it is though

Pakistani restaurant during this Easter weekend

Had a great lamb biriyani

Biriyani is a great underrated rice dish. Yes I know its popular in India and Pakistan but most people have never heard of this awesome rice dish. So good.

EDIT

Slacking off today. The famous Chopped Cheese sandwich. It’s like a hybrid sandwich of a cheeseburger and a Philly style cheesesteak.

Incredible sandwich. The Italian bread used was especially outstanding. If you can find a Chopped Cheese sandwich it’s excellent
