Custom Ambient Acoustics Mad24 or trade/sell as non custom?

Hello everyone,

I have a set of Mad24 and I do enjoy the sound a lot. I wish they had a little more bass but overall I enjoy them with my se2000 or phone with mojo2. These are my first set of higher end iem.

The issue I have is that they do hurt my ears after an hour or more of listening. I know the housings are large since the iem does have a lot of drivers. Ambient says it’s $800 to convert.

Am I better off trying to find a similar quality iem or sending these off to go custom? I know it’ll be very hard to sell if I go custom though. If I should trade them, what should I be looking for that sounds similar but maybe with more bass other suggestions?

A different housing is going to change the sound - and how much smaller would it be afterward with the multiple drivers? For that amount of $$, and very limited resale value, it's not a gamble I would take.

I think it's a better idea to spend the $800 on a different pair. I don't have anything in that $$ range but other people here should have suggestions.

That’s a good point, I’m not sure how much smaller they would be if at all. I guess the answer is to sell or trade these.
