Ive been wondering what is causing a crackle in only the left side of my iems. Even when I swap out the iems to the opposite 2 pin connectors its still coming from the same end of the cable. I have a tripowin mic cable and think maybe its the mic. But i believe ive also heard the static and crackle at around the 250hz sound region regardless of the cable i use. Ive been using a $15 usbc to 3.5mm dongle that has a 32bit 384khz chip in it so any help would be appreciated

Are you able to plug the IEMs into something without the DAC?

I tested my sennheiser 280HD plugged into the dongle and found the song my iems were crackling the most to. The headphones dont have the same crackle. Im thinking the built in microphone in the cable is causing interference if they tend to do that cause this is just a $10 cable

If reversing it causes static on the other side it's the cable has a short in it. Luckily they're really inexpensive. Have plugged it into a connector that doesn't have a built in mic port on it, just a regular 3.5mm one so the mic is bypassed? Even something like a clock radio would have a standard one to test it.

I used the different cable that just came in with my s12 pro and its still always only the left side that does it
