I'm about to order a couple of 5-port gigabit switches to split wires going to my living room and bedroom. I see that the Netgear GS105 and the GS605 seems to do exactly the same things from the documentation. Yet they are different prices. Is the newer (and cheaper) GS605 better? Or is the 'SMB-focused' GS105 a more solid product?

Yeah they look about the same, the only thing i noticed that was different was the size of the memory for routing tables and what not, but this dose not make any real difference. You may also want to look at SMC products, my netgear router died after 2 years and i got an SMC and its been working wonders for the past 2 years.
