What are some recommendations for comfortable full sized headphones? Say if I score headphones based on comfort and sound, 70:30. For everyday listening and some gaming.

From what I've tried, most headphones from DCA, Sennheiser HD600 series, HD800/S, AudioQuest Nighthawk.
Also any teardrop Hifiman with the suspension headband and Meze Empyrean/Elite.

Also Audio-Technica ATH-R70X, as in my avatar. I have sometimes forgotten I'm wearing them.
JackarlTwo
500+ Head-Fier
Sennheiser HD600/650, Fostex TH-series, ZMF.
Second the Sennheiser HD600 line. I'd also add the Sivga SV021 because the pads are so soft and mushy - incredible pads.
I use Ultrasone pro 750i all day for work. Tried a few, but this is the winner for me. I like the velour pads they use so they don't cause heat buildup. The headband is comfortable and they just work for me for that purpose. They are quite good for gaming too. Music is hit or miss - they are a little V shape but I happen to enjoy it. I do have another Ultrasone though which I prefer for music listening.
That's one thing about velour - I love it for it's ability to stay cool around the ears. (P)Leathers cause heat build up which is find in short duration, but if we are talking about hours of use, not my preference.

Beyerdynamic T1 and alike, HD800, only two I can think of.
Most comfortable headphones I've had are easily the Sennheiser hd700 or Hyperx Cloud Orbit (Audeze Mobius drivers with a mic made by Shure). Also the Beyerdynamic models with the silver pads like the DT880 250 ohm, which are nice for gaming, as bass doesn't drown everything else out.
I have a hd600 already, is the hd800 a step up in comfort?
Compared to everything else I have spent proper time with....Hyland Jupiter-1.
Is there a good store in the sf bay area to try a bunch of headphones?

HD600/650 are not really that comfy, wisegrip like clamp, hard when new pads, narrow headband with thin strip of foam.I have a hd600 already, is the hd800 a step up in comfort?
HD800 while not as robust looking would be a nice step up in comfort.
OK, the Audio-Technica ATH-R70X was designed as a one-up on the HD600 or HD650. Japan vs. Germany, precision vs. precision.

Clamp force feels like nothing. Those little wings under the perforated elevated headband make them feel like zero weight. Seriously, I never expected headphones to feel like they just disappeared. These do. And the sound is SO natural.

So no good store in norcal to try them both to compare? Guess I'll have to get them both if they show up on classified.
Everyone’s ear is different, but I love the comfort from HD800 and Hifiman Ananda.
