Hi headfi!  It's been a while.

A while back I purchased an external hard drive that works only over my home network.  Via ethernet, it plugs directly into my router and is accessible through finder as another shared 'folder'.  Needless to say, I'm on a mac.  OS 10.5.

Because my local disk has been far too full for far too long, I transferred all of my music over to the external hard drive.  Through finder I have no problem selecting songs individually to play with media players like VLC.  You can imagine how cumbersome that becomes.  So I decided to reinstall Songbird and import the music directly from the external hard drive.  Hooraaaaay! It worked.  But only until I removed my laptop from the network (i.e. took it to school with me).

When I returned, even though I can access all the files through finder, Songbird can no longer locate the files.

I'm wondering if there's anything I can do here to make this work?  Another player perhaps?  Structuring this in some other way?  Any suggestions here would be helpful guys.

Thanks!

In case you were wondering, the drive is made by iOmega and has some proprietary software to aid in syncing and streaming (directly to itunes!) but for the life of me I couldn't get any of this to work. That's why I went and manually transferred it over.
