I am getting this faint, soft clicking sound occasionally in my ear... I have no idea what it is... could this be from wisdom teeth?

1. Does it happen when you move your jaw?
2. Have you been sick lately?
3. Do you have allergies?
4. Do you have acid reflux?

Oh thank god!
I'm not crazy!

WHen I run this happens to me too. It mostly happens on the up-stride, i.e. bouncing up between steps. It gets really annoying after a while.

BTW: I also just got my wisdom teeth in, so maybe it does have something to do with that.

The clicking or popping comes from your temporomandibular joint, where the jaw meets your skull. It doesn't have anything to do with your wisdom teeth, except that certain types of surgery to remove wisdom teeth (ones that involve temporarily dislocating the jaw) can contribute to making it worse. It isn't a problem unless it starts causing you pain or lack of jaw motion, etc. Then it's called TMJ or temporomandibular joint disorder.

Stop chewing gum.

Another vote for TMJ here. Stop chewing gum immediately and see a doctor or dentist for treatment. It's not a critical situation, but only gets worse with time and can get bloody painful (on top of the clicking).

It can be caused by wisdom teeth, crossbites, stress, grinding your teeth in your sleep, the list goes on...

I have it and it periodically graces me with its presence in the form of blinding headaches, or the inability to chew anything without getting shoots of pain through my jaw and up through my skull (feels like some kind of horrible electrical shock).

Good times.

Unlikely to be wisdom tooth related probably just a bone joint clicking when you yawn or something. Could also be a small insect in there dancing to the music.... best you go and get a Doctor to have a look.
