Hi there all, looking to get a friend some headphones (to upgrade from their god-awful Skullcandies).
He listens to a lot of Ska and video game music (think Paper Mario, Super Mario Galaxy, Disgaea, etc.), and a little bit of everything else- I don't think that sound signature is all too important to him. Clarity and detail are most important to him. Comfort and durability are also musts. Lastly, the aesthetics shouldn't be too bad... Some of the budget recommendations I've seen are simply the ugliest things I've ever seen.
So:
+ Circumaural, closed-back
+ Strong clarity and detail (also separation)
+ Comfortable
+ Durable
+ Not ugly
I'm willing to extend my budget a bit, and indeed have been looking at the Sony MDR-V6 and the Philips Uptowns.
Any and all help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
