I asked about this almost a week ago in the bang for buck cables thread (https://www.head-fi.org/threads/low...ng-for-buck-cable-thread.891911/post-18715431) but got no response. I assume many of the people who frequent that area of the forum prefer more expensive cables, and don't check that particular thread very often.

The problem I have with the Alba's stock cable is A) the ear hooks tend to float off of my ears and B) the chin cinch doesn't work at all. I'm looking for something with improved ergonomics available from a US based source. Ideally the connectors and cable would be silver, gray, or white, and it MUST have flush 2-pin connectors and a working chin slider. I tried adjusting the ear hooks on the cable from my AFUL Explorer (using the heat and form method), and it works okay but is still kind of heavy. I am currently using a cable that doesn't match visually but is more comfortable (a purple Xinhs cable that I ordered years ago to go with my Tangzu Ze Tian Wu).

My budget is no more than 1/3 of the Alba's purchase price (~$50) unless there are literally no options in that price range, and I'd prefer as cheap as possible without compromising aesthetics and ergonomics.

Update: It wasn't the AFUL cable causing the discomfort, but something related to the skin on top of my ear. The soreness went away after a couple days and hasn't come back. I haven't had any other problems with the AFUL cable so am fine using it for now. I'm thinking of writing a review for the Alba, which sounds great and is small+comfortable but very picky on eartips (many will partially slide out of my ears before the IEM body stops them from sliding further).
