Charging Karma in the dock?

I just recently got a karma, and I've noticed that when in the dock, it only charges when the karma is on. It is fine when plugging the karma directly into the ac, it charges while on or off, and shows the moving battery meter. But when I put it in the charger, it automatically turns on. That's fine, but if it turn it off, it stops charging (the dock doesn't flash like I have it set and the battery meter doesn't move). This is annoying because I'm sure it charges more slowly while on, and I'd like to be able to use the dock. Does anyone else's do this? Could it be charging, even though it gives no indication of it doing so? Any suggestions?

I believe that the Karma will recharge whenever it is plugged in to the AC or dock - it does not matter if the unit is on or not. I also found this confusing because there is no indication that it is charging, it just does.

There is reference to this on page 10 or 11 of the manual.

yes, it will charge eventhough it doesn't show that it's charging.

The manual is a PDF file on the CD. KarmaUG.pdf is the filename.

LOL...reading the manual is for wusses! Just kidding. If I've preached ONE thing with electronics to my family it's READ THE MANUAL!!! Do they listen...nope. Usually, I end up reading things and then tell them how it works or how to use it.

As for charging the Karma in the dock, I don't use it anymore. My dock is part of my home theater setup now. I just charge using the AC. If the unit is off, you'll see a battery sympol which "fills up" until the unit is fully charged. Then you get the little wire/plug symbol which means you're good to go.
