I heard it briefly the other day. The build quality is excellent like all Cayin gear and the sound was good considering it was fresh from the box with no break in.

You are right about the build quality, should not have even mentioned.

I am interested in the unit mainly for the footprint as I will be moving it with some regularity.

Will have to give it a listen in the near future

Thanks very much for the heads up.

Found a few reviews, sounds like a very good unit. I like the fact that it has a tube output stage that can actually drive cans.
I have a wide assortment of 6DJ8 variety tubes, so it might be right up my alley.

No, only the analog output stage of the MiniMax is tube-based, the headphone out is actually solid-state. Read Elnero's review of the MiniMax and you'll find this out.
