When I try to log in to Tidal on my AK70 Mk II, there is an error message saying "Authentication Failed - Unknown error."

I think I might need to install a newer version of Tidal on my player but I don't know how. I found a youtube video of a guy installing Tidal on another Astell Kern player using an APK installer, but I can't get it to work on my player.

Any suggestions?

I would suggest you checkout the Noteburner software. They might have one for Tidal. You can convert the music onto an Micro SD card and play it normally like from CDs. I prefer it over streaming or offline mode. There's no problem with it at all. I got a ton of new SD cards over the last 2 years doing this and it was relatively cheap.

You could also use the AK Connect app as a workaround.

I suspect you might find the issue is that Tidal no longer runs under Android 6, which IIRC is the base OS for that model A&K. It is/was always going to be the issue with streaming on a DAP - that the base OS is no longer supported/capable of running a particular software. Might be best to treat it as a local player - ie from Micro SD or internal storage.
