You don't need to re-rip your CDs. They already have all the musical information they are going to have as .wav files.
Upsampling can makes your files much larger (and less compatible with other devices) but it doesn't improve quality.
If you do get your hands on high-res master studio recordings -- from musician friends, audiophile sites or wherever -- then sure, keep them uncompressed in their original format. But puffing up existing files won't give you better sound.
