Can you squeeze Sub Bass out of Shure SE425 with EQ ?

I am looking for new IEM's since last month, and i thought my search was over after getting recommendations from fellow head fiers on Fidue A83's.
Although i really like the sound signature, clarity. The lack of proper fit even after using Comply Foam tips has led me to search again for a new pair.

Sound isolation is Top on the list for me at this point, I also want the IEMS to have a very flat sound but capable in the Sub Bass department.

I stumbled upon a couple of reviews about Shure SE425 and it seems they have really good isolation. The only thing im worried about is the Sub Bass response.
It seems evident that when un-equalized the bass  is very thin.

I want to ask you guys, how they fair out with Equalization around 20-60Hz frequency range? And also how do they sound when used with ZO FS.
(Not really looking for tons of bass, but a very controlled but DEEP bass. )

Also, if anyone has experience with IE80's. Please let me know how do they compare against Fidue's in terms of clarity and isolation.

I don't think you will be happy with the SE425 - it is a pretty anemic IEM - if sub bass is something you are after and you had issues with fit and think the Shure/Westone style IEM would be a better fit (and it will probably will) You might consider the UM Pro Westone line of IEMs - very solid bass - also the regular W line is great - if you can spring for 3 driver model, all the better (W30/UM Pro 30)

I just think you will be disappointed with the 425 - so much out there better for the same (or less) money.

Thanks for jumping in.

Going to check the um pro's out. UM Pro30 seems to be priced at 400$ , im thinking to stick under 330$.
Westone UM20 seems to be in reach. Any thoughts on these ?

And any experience with IE80s ?

I have owned both the IE8 and IE80 - they were a great introduction to this hobby, but have their flaws - isolation is poor - fakes are abundant - and there are many better sounding options now for less money. I think you might have fit issues if the Fidue was problematic.

Agree with Ivabign.  I loved the SE425 and often tempted to rebuy.  They were the most neutral of Shure's SE line by a long shot.  Only issue was extension on both ends.  You could get more bass thump by EQ, but not sure how much sub-bass you'll coax out, and I no longer have a pair to check.

Might be more worth while looking into something with the sub-bass already there.

I also see Fidue have a new dual driver A71 due out (should be getting a pair to review in due course).  Will be interesting to see if they are closer to what you're looking for.  The shape should help with fit anyway.

+1 on that! The SE425 is clearly a mid-centric IEM.

Have you considered the DUNU DN-1000? In general, I would look at the new generation of 3-way hybrids.

Hmm, So basically IE80's are out of question then.

Looking forward to your review on A71, I really wish the A83's had more isolation. Any details on the design of A71's, is it vented like 83's ?

That was the one i was almost going to get until i stumbled A83, which beat the Dunu in clarity.
Brooko had recommended both Dunu 1000 and Alton200's.

Looks like i need to pay them a visit again.

DN1000 and Altone200 both pretty V shaped - great IEMs though. Maybe research the DN-2000 (I haven't heard it) which is a more neutral sounding triple from Dunu.

Don't have a lot of info on the A71.  Guessing it will be vented in some way as it's a single BA + single dynamic.  Will let you know once we get one.

Read the reviews on D2000 , looks to be pretty balanced, has less bass than D1000 though, although it goes a tiny bit lower. Looks to be something i can buy.

I am also looking at 2 iems which are sub 200$
Shure SE215 , which from freq graphs look to be very warm vs the 425 which we just talked is going to dissapoint on Sub bass dept. Im reading Shures give the best isolation , but i dunno how good this SE215 is going to sound in terms of clarity and sub bass.

Another one i saw was RHA MA750i. Review looks good.

Try Dweaver.  Think he may have heard both.

Also: VSONIC has a new range with a similar form factor to the Shures. I haven't heard them yet, but they may have something suitable.

It's the VSD series. The GR07 sounds excellent, but doesn't really isolate that well.

Isolation is what im looking for. Fidues are working great, except its too annoying to be able to hear ambient noises.

I came across another pair of iems which isolate very well, atleast thats what ive read in the reviews.
The Logitech UM900's

Any thoughts on these ? Isolation and  Sub bass response.
