I have an old pair of custom silicone ear plugs (not full concha) that I don’t use and will soon replace with a softer pair for sleeping.

I was wondering if I could turn them into eartips for my sport or backup IEM. I like both but they’re not comfortable over longer periods. Custom tips seem overpriced and I have a new CIEM on order.

Has anyone come across this kind of project?

I’m guessing that a big challenge will be securing the tip for removal and insertion.

Is it just careful drilling/poking and getting the a tube through?
