I was planning to get the ifi go blue because I heard it’s warmer sound signature paired well with the iem’s I bought. I currently have a nice usb-c to lightning cable and I was wondering if I could just directly use this cable to connect my iPhone to the ifi go blue. I’ve seen around that some people say I need to get an Apple CCK, and a usb-c to usb and connect my phone through both of those to the dac. Do I need to do this or could I connect directly through a single cable? Thanks for help!

Needs to be an "OTG" (on the go) cable if you're not going to use the camera kit. You'll find out right away if your current cable won't work. If it does work, awesome. If not, I'd start with a cheap OTG cable and go from there. Sometimes you get lucky. Other times, you might have to try a handful of cables before you find one that works reliably.

Ah that makes sense. I have 2 usb-c to lightning cables and one works with my qudelix 5k and the other doesn’t. Do you know if the quality is worse using an OTG cable vs using the camera cable?

Not that I've ever noticed or heard of. But, man, nothing is more unwieldy than using that camera kit with another USB cable. Even if an OTG cable did sound worse, it would still be worth it just to avoid the bulkiness.

Agree with you 100%, do you know of any otg cables I could buy? I’m having a lot of trouble finding them and would like to avoid resorting to the camera cable

My recommendation is probably not the one to start with. I've had terrible luck finding an OTG cable that can hold up to the abuse I put it through (in my pocket walking multiple hours every day). I use the ddHiFi MFi09S, and it costs ~$70. Many cheaper OTG cabes work initially, but none has lasted more than a month or two for me. I know that some folks around here swear by the FiiO cable. I believe it's this one, and it costs just under $20. But I haven't tried it myself.
