Cambridge Audio DACMAGIC 2i DAC any good?

Any thoughts on the Cambridge Audio DACMAGIC 2i DAC? Would it be a decent DAC to use with AirPort Express?

They're ok if you want to put the time into heavily modding it. I had the successor to it (mk 3) and it was clearly behind my Terratec for sound quality.

Could you elaborate on that at all? I've seen these older standalone DACs go quite cheaply on Ebay and I'm curious about them - what exactly are their deficiencies?

Well basically, they are not the most extended either in the bass or treble, not the most detailed, and are a tad grainy. They dont sound too shabby, but like I said my cheapish soundcard improved on all areas of its performance, offering more powerful bass, airier treble, and a smoother overall sound.

One thing though, at the price, try one, you will always recoup your money if you dont like it.
