No one here has ordered the Cpads from Headphile for the Grado phones?..I'm waiting for some feed back...these MS-1s are killing my ears. I"m wondering though...would it make sense for me to spend $80 on a $99 set of phones., when I can buy a sr-225 for around $200...hmm

lol I"m knows, but I would feel better about spending that amount of cash for an upgrade in quality, rather than comfort. This site really should be shut down...its in sane....I started off with the sony ex71...and it keeps getting worst!
But I honesly think I"m going to have to go Circumaural with another brand...I always though that the talk about grados' being uncomfortable was over blown, but they really do hurt...even with the modded Senn pads I bought they hurt.

I know that there are few memeber who have ordered a pair (or two) already. I'm waiting to see if it becomes an option for RS-1/MSP since even with my iron ears/head, I can't wear them for several hours (which I've been doing lately, especially on day offs) without some discomfort.

yes yes it should... i was content with my ipod and E2s until I stumbled across this site...

I would say go with the cpads and be content and comfortable until u can do the jump to the 225s and enjoy the upgrade in quality and comfort... or you can join the senn side and be more comfortable then your grados will ever be

... actually a pair of 325i's are next on my list... and I am assuming cpads will be necessary as well... darn HeadFi!!!

I don't get how this is expensive. Firstly, pads themselves cost $30.00. And that is the cost. Nothing he can do about that. So that leaves $45.00 to include the materials (not just wood, but the speaker covers), and the all-too-overlooked-on-head-fi labor. If he priced these lower, you'd have him working 48 hour days. Too high and only 5 or 6 people would want them. I think his price is actually a very good compromise.

You don't get something for nothing.

I"m not saying his price isn't fair, I'm saying it doen't make sense to buy $80 pads for a $99 pair of headphones. Might as well upgrade to a circumaural pair of phones that cost around $200. If you have the RS-1 etc then$80 isn't much.

Thanks for the heads up! Those look amazing - The geek chic vintage look just went up a few notches lol - a way to get a "woody" look on the cheap!

Actually pricing that low was surprising to me, that's good value.

Yeah, Jahn, I have no concerns about price, and also feel I'm paying for labor as well as a cosmetic upgrade. I've got a beta set on the way.

If anything, my feeble lack o' mechanical aptitude fears are only if I can put the adapter set on without wrecking the drivers, ha!
