Hello,

I just got some Sennheiser IE 7 and would like to know if it is bad to burn them non-stop for 150-200 hours. Is it recommended to give headphones a break once a while while burning in or will I be fine?

Thanks

You should give them a break. The drivers will heat up after a while. I use a burninwave generator and set it up to give a 30 min break after 90 min of burn in.

The most vulnerable component is the voice coil, which will overheat and possibly melt. You also need to watch volume as a variable when burning in.

When you're burning in, set it to a similar volume that you would when listening, or slightly louder than that. Rip N' Burn's advice is very good.
