If one were to use a BUF634 outside of the feedback loop (say, after an AD823 and crossfeed circuit) what are the consequences? I need advice here.

Kheldar,

Would you mind explaining this to me. I am a hack whose really good at following directions, schematics, etc. and soldering but I know next to nothing about electronics.

im probably the last who should explain this.... umm..

when the opamp gets some sort of signal in the negative input it inverts it, so if the buffer has an offset of say +30mv (which is typical for the buf634 according to the datasheet) it will get inverted, so the opamp will send out a -30mv offset and in the end its a zero offset. someone please correct me if im wrong or misleading.

The max offset according to the spec sheet is 100mv, which may or may not be damaging to phones.. the lower the impedence the easier they are to damage with DC signals.

I may be completely wrong on it, but thats the way i understand it, so both the amps i built with the buffer have it inside the loop.

thats the link to the buf634 datasheet in case you need it
