I just completed my small project to re-enter into audio world at a small budget
I got hold of 2nd hand wharfedale 10.1 + cable + onkyo a-9030, and connected it to my laptop + cheap dac (old onkyo model)
Its amazing to rediscover the music ! (I was using MM-1 previously and was thinking wether i should go for something like audioengine or a seperate)
As per my memory when i was using separates in the past, these setup (even the most budget one) really blows away the "higher end" PC speakers ! I am very happy
