I am looking all over and have not seen anything on these headphones.

Could you guys fill me in on how these are?

If possible could someone write a very mini review?
Thanks

Who's gonna have fun with this?

Found a lengthy review of V1. He/she seems impressed.

Overall, I must say that the difference between a naked ear and one protected by the QuietComfort in active mode is quite remarkable. I think I'm finally listening to my music the way it's meant to be heard!

Save your money and check out the Sennheiser PXC 250 if you want good noise-canceling 'phones. Or try canalphones for isolation.

I just happened to check out the Bose QCII at the Denver airport display yesterday. I plugged them into my IPOD and listened to snippets of about 10 tunes.

Overall, I would have to rate them as superior solely based on noise cancelling properties compared to other NC headphones that I have used (Sennheiser PXC-250, Sennheiser 451, Discwasher, United Airlines Business Class). They are also very comfortable and light considering how well they cover the ears. These are the headphones I would buy if I didn't want to listen to music, but if I wanted to have a pair of noise cancelling headphones solely to reduce airplane noise.

In terms of sound quality, I would call them gross. Highly boosted bass, and clearly audible distortion. I felt like I was in heaven when I switched back to my Etymotic ER4Ps.

Earlier this year, I purchased a pair of Sennheiser PXC-250 headphones. I found that I had to keep my hands clamped on the headphones to get a tight enough fit to to get good sound quality and effective noise cancelling--thus these headphones were sent back to J&R for a refund.

Every couple of months i find myself wandering into my local Bose outlet store so that I can take a listen to their products and make sure that they still represent a poor value in audio equipment (in other words I make sure that they still suck). I usually first listen to their headphones. While I was over at the headphone station I tried on the Bose Quiet Comfort 2 and was immediately . . . not impressed. I will admit that the noise cancelling is somewhat decent although I have no reference to compare them to other than my passive noise blocking etys. As to sound, I really didn't find them any better than the standard TriPorts. Everytime I listen to the TriPorts I hear bloated midbass, harsh highs, and a thin midrange. There was actually someone listening to the TriPorts before I did and then decided to buy them. You can't imagine the feeling I had at that moment. I didn't know whether I should have told him my thoughts on the TriPorts only to get a cold look in return or just shut up. I decided on the latter especially since there were about 6 salesmen just standing around doing nothing and I didn't feel like getting in an argument with them. What I should really do is get some "Head-Fi.com business cards" and quietly hand them to uneducated headphone listeners who are about to make a poor purchase. Well back to the subject, I wouldn't recommend the Bose Quiet Comfort 2. If you want something that blocks a large amount of noise for the same amount of money, get some Etymotics ER-4s. Along with all the noise isolation you also get superb sound quality.

You must admit that the Bose Quiet Comfort 2 are much more comfortable than the Etymotics.

I agree with mikel51,
I actually owned V.1 and V.2 I am not ashamed to say that.
my honest opinion, they worked wonder in noisy environment.
I returned the V.1 because of the stupid console box and because the V.2 came out.

Compared with my HD580, ... I dont' have to say more, HD580 is superior in quiet place. but the HD580 isn't designed for noisy enviroment true?

With the quiet comfort I could actually hear good music, I said good because with anything else (except for the etymonics or shure maybe) I can't even hear music in noisy enviroment.

It was invaluable in noisy subway in Tokyo, and it was a life saver in 10 hours flight (i could actually hear the movie dialogue) Vancouver, BC --> Tokyo--> Portland, OR (propeller plane), and vise versa.

it's comfortable also, except in hot humid summer. big bass, ok midrange, bad soundstage, somewhat bright. nice carrying case hehe

Bottom line is, it is excellent for their intented design (noisy ambient -background, doesn't work well for high frequency noise).

I returned it because I see no need for them (stop going to noisy coffee shop for studying). If you fly alot and don't mind the price it's a good can. If money is not an issue, you can get this strickly for bussines trip or what not exclusively. (Bose claims it is also good in quiet place too, but that's depends on how muchyou want to settle *wink*)

Battery life of the V.2 is bad, but V.2 has less noise cancelling signature "hiss" than V.1. Build is alright, it's made is China if that matters (didn't matter to me).

please plase pppllleeasseee don't flame me (especially if you have never owned them), just trying to be critical here.

I find the Bose Quiet Comfort 2s to be a wonderful pair of closed, high isolation, high comfort headphones. For a headphone of this type, sound quality, isolation, and comfort are all excellent, IMHO. There is your mini-review. I'm not going to review them or compare them to other phones because, as we all know, Bose is flame bait, and people will be particularly offended if you say a Bose product is better than their beloved headphone. I like to have fun here, not argue. I have them on a 90-day money back trial period from Bose. If you're interested, try them for 90 days. They are not flashy sounding; the sound is well-balanced, well-extended, and neutral. The least neutral part is the bass, it's a little strong, but I haven't heard a high isolation phone that isn't a little funky in the bass yet, either a little strong or a little weak. The best aspect of the sound is the midrange, it sounds quite natural to me. The highs may be a touch soft, but they are clear and there. The midrange is very present. The overall sound is warm and full with some punch to it. If you decide you like them, don't expect bragging rights here. The reward will be in trusting your own ears and enjoying your music. If you decide you don't like 'em, take 'em back. A few Quiet Comfort 2 fans here whisper praise for these phones on rare occasions, which encouraged me to try a pair, and their praise was more than justified.
