Hi there

I am fairly new to the whole world of Hifi Music listening. I am using an iPhone 7  but i would like to use good headphones on the go.

I saw the Video of the chord mojo poly Combo a while ago by jude on youtube and i was impressed a lot. The scenario he described is exactly what i would like to use my portable setup. Have a decent Amp/Dac in my pocket and stream wirelessly from my iPhone to this dac.

I see a great benefit in Terms of conveniance by having your iPhone completly separated from the Dac. No Need for Stacking or other wires in the Pocket.

Unfortunatly i am a Student and a mojo poly Combo is definately to expensive for my Budget at the Moment.

So i was thinking about a solution for this but i have no clue if this will work.

Is it possible to connect a Bluetooth USB-Dongle into a "normal" USB-DAC/Amp and transmit my Music to the dongle to use the dac?

I thought about that:

iPhone 7 ----> Bluetooth 4.0 Dongle (http://www.cronusmax.com/images/bluetooth_dongle.png something like this) ----> into the USB Port of perhaps an OPPO HA2 or something similar

Does anyone of you know if this will work or has even the chance to test something like that?

Is there perhaps an other solution that i do not have on my Radar at the Moment? I heard Fiio is planing on a Dac with Bluetooth capability, but found no informations when and if it will come out

It would be a great help

Thanks in advance

regards Phil

Unfortunately your idea is not viable. The DAC you're plugging the bluetooth dongle into would need to be able to set the dongle to communicate with the bluetooth signal from your phone. If you are using an IEM with MMCX, you can always consider using a bluetooth MMCX cable like the one from Westone.

Hi thanks

thanks for the fast reply. Unfortunately thats what i suspected...

To bad i am going to use a Ultimate Ears ue 4 or 5 pro in the future, so mmcx Bluetooth cables are not what i can use.

This means i will Ave to wait for fiio or someone else who will produce a "Bluetooth or Airplay DAC/AMP".

I saw the celsus Sound companion one that would sort more than my Needs but i had to find out that is not available anymore

EDIT: I think i found what would suit my Budget, untili can upgrade to some more fancy gear.

I am going to try the creative sounblaster e3 or e5 my only concern is the Output impedance, which i have not found anywhere, does someone of you know if they are also usable with Multi ba IEM's ?

If both are fine i will try the E3 first

Why do you need a "fancy" setup?
Using a separate DAC and a Bluetooth transmission link together is just a waste of money and gear.
Try something like this with your IEMs:

This is the best I have found so far!
But not so easy to find, sadly.
If you look for these:

This is easier to find on eBay, just try to filter away the fake ones!
The fake ones are cheaper than genuine ones, and the fakes never come with the 3 set of different size rubber tips to the earbuds!
The sound, and connectivity/signal strength are usually worse with fake ones.

I like the LG sound best, the mic though is not as good as the Nokia.
The Nokia has a much better mic, if you use the device as handsfree with your phone.
Both devices power headphones as well as IEMs, I have used my UE 10 Pro, and various Shures.
Just got a new phone, a Samsung Galaxy S7, came from a Samsung Galaxy S3.
The new Samsung offered an obvious upgrade of the sound, especially after installing powerAMP, and the phone had upgrade to Android 7.
And this also goes for the sound over the Bluetooth connection.
