Hello everyone!

Sorry if this question has already been covered, but I could not find an answer so far.

I have an Onkyo DP-X1, and I want to get full-size headphones for it. I plan to use these headphones with the balanced output. My research has led me to consider the Beyerdynamic T1(v2) to be the top contender.

However, there are two versions of the T1(v2) in existence: the original Beyerdynamic T1(v2), which as an impedance of 600 Ohms; and the Astell & Kern T1p version, which looks almost identical, but is 32 Ohms. The 600 Ohm version does not come with a 2.5 mm TRRS cable, but it can be purchased separately from Astell & Kern for $99. Thus, both models are virtually identical in terms of price and connectivity. Which one should I choose?

My understanding is that the 600 Ohm version will have slightly better high frequency performance. Will this be very noticeable?
What about the loudness? I won't be listening at 115 dB sustained, of course, but how much louder will the 32 Ohm version be (if at all)?
Last but not least, will there be an impact on battery life?

Does anyone have direct experience with T1/T1p and DP-X1?

Thanks!

I am not familiar with the 32 ohm version at all,but it is clearly made to be used for portable use, which within itself is kinda odd considering theyre not much for isolation, allowing noise to leak in/out.

That being said I used to own the original T1 and its quite a bright sounding headphone,of all the frequency responses, the highs will be the most prominent.

I would make a semi educated guess and say that the 32 ohm version will get much louder than the 600 ohm version out of your DAP
