Thinking of going for a 3.5mm connection for my FiiO M6 and Sony NW-WM1A. I would like some IEMs that have at least decent noise isolation. It's fine if there is no detachable cable. What are your recommendations? Maybe my cans and IEMs list can give an idea, but Sony is not required. Thanks in advance

Might be good if you could answer these queries so the community can advise u better:
1) Preferred music genres?
2) Preferred sound signature? V shaped, midcentric, neutralish, basshead/bass averse, treblehead/treble sensitive?

My signature should answer the sound style that I like.

Genres include salsa, trance, heavy metal, hard rock, punk, hip hop like Fort Minor, Video game remixes (orchestral, electronica, rock), reggae, cumbias.

I want to hear the treble, but not strongly. Some bass is good but nothing like beats and I like hearing mids. So I guess more focus on mids and bass but nothing like skull candy crusher’s insanity

The Fiio FH3 has been having rave reviews so far, but a few reported QC issues. I don't have it but would be interested in seeing if it gets cheap enough for 11/11 or black friday.

Otherwise, a set I can recommend based on your above description would be the TRI I3.
It is a 1 DD + 1 BA + 1 planar set, about $140 - 160 USD. U shaped, very coherent and balanced despite the strange mismash of drivers. Sweet planar mids when amped. Very good soundstage at that price bracket, almost speaker like. Timbre is good, smooth and has above average technical performance. Treble is tame and actually verges on the darker side. Bass is accurate with minimal midbass bleed.
One thing that is important is that TRI I3 needs amping. The planars inside are very power hungry. It sounds meh from a low powered smartphone, but sounds very grand with amping.

How would it sound with the WM1Z? V-Shaped might also be more ideal

Not sure, sorry never used the WM1Z or Fiio M6 before.
I’ll try out your recommendation at E-Earphone thanks.

Any other recommendations?
