Could you manage to use AAC codec for pairing with the R3 Pro?

I am trying to pair from an iPhone XS and I only get SBC - even when selecting AAC in Bluetooth options on R3 Pro.

Both devices should support AAC…

Sorry, can’t really help with that as I don’t use Bluetooth all that much.

Alternatively, couldn’t you make your XS a hotspot and connect the R3 Pro via WiFi while OTG? Should work better than Bluetooth as far as sound quality…

So, what;s the consensus for the iPhone / BTR3K Bluetooth connection? Possible to force AAC consistently using the Fiio app or some other way?

Alternatively, can I use AptX HD with my Mac (not as convenient as my phone, but works when I’m at a coworking space)?
