Best portable music player (for classical music)

Of course long battery life can be great, But i am not concered with it that much-If it makes the DAP cost much more-Then i don't need it. I would like big capacity for  operas, symphonies, etc. Also it must play all kinds of loseless files. Of course a good and neutral sound is very important-From what i understand a good  DAP can sound much better than an iPod touch-correct me if i am wrong. Thank you very much for the help! It's pretty urgent, I am ordering today the ATH-40x  and of course a player to play music with could be a nice addition ;)
By the way, What does it mean if a DAP (like FiiO X5 which seems very recommended) has a USB DAC? Does it mean i can connect it to my home PC and to use it as whole new sound card?
And maybe i can get the best sound quality from a smartphone with an AMP and/or DAC? And should i consider a DAP with a USB DAC? It would be great if you could answer all of the questions.. Thank you very much
Edit: I am buying the ATH M40X and from that you can understand that i like flat sound. Please consider that

Every DAP has a built-in DAC, which is to say it has a Digital to Analog Converter.  That's the element that converts the digital file into an analog signal you can listen to.

The FiiO X5 can also be used as an external DAC for your computer.  Thus, you can attach the FiiO to your computer's USB port, play files on your computer's software player, and then bypass the computer's built in DAC in favor of the FiiO's DAC.  Nice feature!

The FiiO is a higher spec'd machine with more features and can play all of the normal formats.  On your iPod, as you know, you can't play FLAC.  The iPod has always had a well-worked-out user interface.  I see that the FiiO has improved in that area -- and that would be a good thing.  Very good bet that it will sound better, but I haven't had the opportunity to hear it personally.

Now that your narrowing in, do some searches and read reviews and user reports if you haven't done so already.  Of course, look for what people say about the sound, but also examine ease of use, synchronizing with files on your computer, battery life and so forth.

Good luck!

I really consider buying the Colorfly C3 since it seems like a great value to money ratio and it apperantly has a neutral flat sound. Is it correct that it stops like 1 second before going on to the next song? it's really a problem with classical music since everything is connected. Is it like that with every DAP? And does it support sandisk 128GB sd?

When you play flac files there is a gap, it's not a whole second but long enough to be annoying.  When I was using a C3 as my main player I converted all my albums to single flac files with .cue to skip tracks, it didn't actually split in the right place but better than nothing...  Sound wise the C3 is good for classical and you probably wont be skipping around so the small screen won't be an issue so it just depends if you're willing to adapt to your library to avoid the gaps.

If you like your library in separate files the feature you are looking for is called "gapless playback" - it's mentioned in every DAP's thread as many people want it and annoyingly many DAPs don't have it.
