Hi all, not really sure myself about this question but here goes, does any one know of some music that brings out the best in stereos & headphones? I have noticed that hifi shops have certain cds they play to impress the customers....... I have a cambridge audio stereo and akg 272 hd

The CDs they choose to "impress" the customers as you say are probably CDs they've tried for the various equipment they're selling and which sound great with it, sometimes masking their shortcomings. Ideally, a good rig should sound great with YOUR favorite music. Many people go to audio stores with a few of their best-known/favorite CDs to try the equipment with.

My stereo is perfect for my music, but thinking of upgrading and the ones in the shop do sound great with their music. Just curious about the choice of music the shops use,
