Using Apple Lossless (primarily for rock) what is considered the best or, at least sufficient, one piece speaker. At first, I liked the Harman Kardon Play+Go (by IPOD accessory standards) due to good soundstage, bass, and volume. But the more I listen the less enamoured I am with the treble which can seem a bit unresolved (right word?) or even tinny. I briefly heard the George and the treble seemed more consistent.

Stupid question, but I assume these are better than the Bose Sound-docks.

Is the best "reasonably" priced one probably the Geneva Labs L or M. Or should one not waste their money and get a $149 speaker with AM/FM and excellent portability.

Tx.

I love my Logitech mm50 and their updated version, the Pure-Fi Anywhere, seems to be even better and only cost 100 dollars.

Here's iLounges review:Logitech Pure-Fi Anywhere Compact Speakers for iPod | iLounge iPod Accessory Reviews

For some reason Amazon has the white being more expensive then the black so here's both links.

Of course their are more expensive less portable options but I don't think that's what you're looking for.

Not sure about your budget but I'm quite partial to the Bowers & Wilkins Zeppelin.

Lots of threads about this. One recent one had a bunch of recommendations for the Klipsch igroove, I think. I haven't heard it, but plan to take a look if it's still available at costco. I'm also considering the Altec-Lansing and Logitech units mentioned above.

Thanks. All good suggestions. Excellent values for what you get it seems. The Zeppelin is indeed impressive and worthy of its price but too big for my living space. The others cost less but seem to be good enough for most applications and some have a lot of functionality. Tx.

No doubt, the B&W Zeppelin. It is the only real value play in my view although it is pricey. It is built great like other B&W speaker products.

I bought a George and will receive it on jan. 5th. I've researched a bit the top ipod speakers and George, B&W Zeppelin and Geneva Model L seems to be the best 3 available. I ended up getting the George based on reviews and the fantastic remote. I wasn't able to listen any of them before my decision, so i hope i like the George.
All these 3 must be good buys ...

Which iGroove are you referring to. The $149 one at Apple? (SXT or something?) I think the Bose is slightly better sounding but not worth double the price.

The Zeppelin has really good sound. But I'll take the Geneva Labs L (or M) for about the same price --- probably in red --- and have a better looking, better sounding speaker w/AM/FM and CD player.

Still, the Zeppelin is an impressive item and it's even more impressive that the company had the cohones to make such an expensive, high quality item.

The George --- not bad, but I don't want to primarily pay for the advanced remote. Especially since it uses the "old" IPOD screen (i.e., black and white) and has a short battery life.

Geneva Labs for me, especially if the M turns out to be almost the same in SQ as the L but smaller and cheaper. It's a shame they are not in stores so one can see it and listen before purchasing.
