Best DAC for use with Echo sound card

I'm interested in getting better quality sound from my computer. I use an Echo Mia sound card, and though it sounds good, from what I read the sound might by running the digital output to a separate DAC.

In terms of price, would a modest external DAC be an improvement in sound quality? If so, what model would you recommend? Thank you..
