Just need a quick answer here. The Roxio CD recording software on my Dell gives 4 speed options; 12x, 16x, 32x max, 48x max. I thought the slower the speed, the better the quality, but the "max" after the last two throws me. Which one will give the best quality?

Generally the slower the better but it really depends on the media and it's compatibility with the burner.

Some media work best at a certain speed, similarly for burners.

Use something that checks for crc errors before error correction and judge for yourself.
