I wish to get the complete 9 Beethoven symphonies collection. Idealy on Vinyl to use at best my new Thorens TFD160 turnable .

Of course, Karajan is the most logical choice ( but what year, he did a complete 9 Beethoven symphonies recording every 10 years: 63, 71, 80'), but... it is really the best recording and Interprétation ?

I also read a lot of good things about the BERNTEIN VERSION... as well as other conductors's versions.... !

Your advices will be welcome. Booth Interpretation as well as quality of the recording are important to me.

Should I get a complete box with the 9 symphonies inside or choose each symphony separatly, like Karajan 1962 for the 9th, Karl Böhn for the 6th, .... ?

Thanks. I will try to listen to them via Qobuz or Tidal before I buy them.

Thanks a lot. is it downloads or are you streaming them ?

Karajan 83~87 DDD cycle: what means " DDD " ?
DDD all digital from recording ro mastering, e.g on CD.

These were his last cycle as well the first cycle by Karajan to be released on Compact Disc, hence DDD

They're my own CD rips

I have the Bernstein version and I can recommend it. Very good interpretation, and... a quiet recording.
