have you tried this out, or do you own it yourself? I looked it up, there is nowhere in Socal I can try the system.

I got a demo of it at one of the meets.  It was incredible.  There are a few threads discussing it and you will see it is the real deal.  I've never experienced another system even close to this.  You really think it's the speakers playing and not the headphone when doing side by side compares.

Looks like there is very little market for Stereo receivers to output 5.1 out of the headphone jack.
I've looked around myself.
Yamaha appears to be the only main stream manufacturer that has 5.1 headphone output on their receivers.
I believe most PS3 users use the Astro mix-amp or Turtle Beach Earforce DSS for 5.1.

So I got to play around with the Turtle Beach Earforce DDS today, it works pretty well for the price, I'd say the Yamaha Silent Cinema is better all around but for about $60 compared to a decent Yamaha receiver running $300 it's a pretty good deal. I might need a receiver down the road so I may keep the Yamaha, but the Turtle Beach definitely sounds better than my 2 channel headphone amp, the dolby digital decoding really makes a difference for headphones listening to 3D/surround sound in movies.
