I've been playing around with a mixer I picked up a couple years ago for about 100 bux, plugged my cans in, and adjusted the 2-band kill EQ; high at it's normal 12 o'clock setting and low at it's max. A bass heads dream! Aphex Twins 'Gwely Mernans' bass smoothly pounding from left to right, so deep I feel I need to let out a yawn to pop my ears. A couple songs later 'C*ck/ver10' come on, slamming drum and bass, sounds tight and precise and the bass is keeping up, first time I've listened to this album (Drukqs) and actually felt it.

Anyway, all is not well on the bass front...

With no music running through the mixer I can hear some slight noise, when the music starts however the hiss is no longer audible, but the hiss doesn't stop there. The problem is with the BPM counter, whenever the beat changes and the BPM display is updated the hiss, or what has now become an annoying buzz is audible over the music. I opened up the mixer to see about completely bypassing the BPM counter, it's built in such a way that I can't change anything.. just a bunch of circuit boards, no wires.

My question to you is, how can I get this stunning bass without all the noise?
- Can I do something to the mixer?
- Can I buy one like it that has ZERO noise?

The Behringer is plugged directly into my Chaintech AV-710 sound card and I'm using Foobar.
