I finally got my hands on the Beatles Japanese mono red vinyl box set. They almost never come up for sale anywhere. A website in UK has it listed for over $3000.00. I have never seen one until now.
As far as I know there are two Beatles mono box sets- the Beatles mono collection box (in black or red box)and the Japanese red vinyl box(see photos).
I now have most of the Beatles vinyl box sets -MFSL; BC-13 (UK & Japanese); Platinum box; The Beatles box; EP collection;wooden box etc....
The only other one that I like to get is the Beatles mono collection in red box. Again they are extremely rare and I have only seen one set for sale over the years. It was so beat up that I couldn't bring myself to buying it.
The opinions on the sound quality between the mono collection box and the Japanese box vary. It will be good to see how the new Beatles remastered mono vinyls fair againest these older versions.
