I would like to get some headphones that emphasize bass, but since I can't demo any of them, I am trying to make a decision based on recommendations, reviews, and graphs. So here's the confusing part.. I'm looking through the graphs for recommendations, particularly the Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro (http://www.headphone.com/headphones/beyerdynamic-custom-one-pro.php.) The Ultrasone HFi 780 (http://www.headphone.com/headphones/ultrasone-hfi-780.php) was recommended in the basshead thread, although the graph for the HFi 780 shows severe attenuation for frequencies below 100Hz, which is the complete opposite of the Custom One Pro, yet people describe the HFi 780 as bassy. There are plenty of other bassy headphones like the PortaPro that have a similar frequency response in the same range as the Custom One Pro. Am I not reading the graphs correctly, or is there something else happening here?

Yeah from the graph they don't appear to be very bass heavy at all.  Well they seem to have a large boost in 300-1000 range though, but that can hardly be considered 'bass'... as that's more midrange.
