Do you still rememebr this great game from 1998?
It started a series of succesfull games: Baldur's Gate 2, Planescape Torment, Icewind Dale 1 & 2.

I recently bought from gog.com (good old games) Baldur's Gate with Tales of the Sword Coast expansion and Baldur's Gate 2: Shadows of Amn with Throne of Bhaal expansion.

With the help of tutorial I enhanced my GOG.com edition of Baldur's Gate saga and now I play both games as one, seamless adventure with the visually superior BG2 version of the engine and its updated mechanics, and with high-res graphics better suited for modern wide-screen display. I also installed a lot of mods to further enchance the gameplay.

Tutorial in question: http://www.gog.com/news/enhance_the_gameplay_in_your_edition_of_baldurs_gate_from_gogcom

And it was worth the (small) investment and time spent for modding. The game is still as great as it was back in the day. And now with higher resolution :D
I play with my laptop's native 1366x768 and it's beautifull. Here's an actual screenshot from my laptop screen:

And the game is challenging. There's no giant yellow exclamation marks above the guestgivers heads, no quest areas marked on map, no compass to tell which way to go to reach quest area etc. Mage and priest spells must be learned: when you have used up all your learned spells there's no more spells until you have rested. So no massive spamming of magic missiles on first monster you encounter. No mana pools and such, just hitpoints. It's wonderfully old-school :)

The music and ambient sound during gameplay is great. And it even has changing weather.

If you liked it then you might still like it now. At least I do. And if Baldur's Gate saga is previously unknown to you I urge you to give it a try.

Edit: fixed the picture link.

What would be a FUN and noob friendly class/kit for the bg1 without intention to go to bg2? And what would be a good team to accompany him?

I'd personally pick a fighter or ranger. Fighter with sword and shield or two-hander. Ranger with long bow and dual-wield. Much better changes to survive with melee class at the beginning with higher HP and armor.
Team depends on your alignment. I tend to play "good guys" so I stick with Imoen, Jaheira and Khalid with Minsk.

Wouldn't be a pure fighter a bit boring? But you might be right about the HP and armor. It's pity that fighter/mage can't cast spells in armor. That would make an awesome PC. So a warrior with a two handed sword sounds good. And race?

I'd go for an elf or a dwarf. Both have good traits like +1 hit with swords and resist sleep/charm for elf and good saving throws for dwarf.

Hm, dwarf looks good. How about the dwarven defender? Or berserker? Or barbarian? So many choices.

I prefer defender over barbarian/berserker. For one barbarians can't use plate armour. But defender is a tank class so not a good idea if you want to use two handed weapon. They are best with shield and one handed.

And what weapons should a dwarven defender specialise? I guess melee makes sense. And how do I use tank in this game? Can he get aggro somehow?

Well tanking in BG isn't like in WoW. I think there's no agro as in newer games. Monsters tend to attack the nearest one. Do tank is just a guy with heavy armor and good stats to take and deliver punishment.
Dwarf might be good with axe or hammer. You can actually make dual wielding dwarf since the shield just helps with archers.
