I have been highly anticipating these for a while. Probably a day one purchase for me.* The soundstage on these should be excellent.

*based on release costs. If over 2k I will wait for reviews.

Believe initial reports had the price tagged at $300....?????

I thought it was closer to $1k, but that was preliminary.

Grell may be a household name around here but an unknown to the world at large........
Considering one can get the decent sounding HD58X from Drop for $169

For the uninitiated $300 from a new start up with Drop in many ways makes sense, I think.
Would be nice to see 2024 bucking the trend for ever silly escalating pricing!:relaxed:

It's difficult to say without knowing what they actually cost to produce. Odds are, they will be built in lower quantities than the HD58X and HD6XX units, which also reduces the economy of scale.

Without seeing the costs and quantities, I have no idea what a realistic price point is.

No longer having Sennheiser paying for the R&D and manufacturing it is difficult to know....

Also with their novel driver placement aiming for a more speaker like presentation (my preference:sunglasses:) they will be catering to another audience than those that love the more intimate in your head presentation of the HD6XX series and when they don't there is a backlash.

Yeah, I think they are trying for a higher end device than the HD6XX series, but that's only my impression.

My guess is at least $1k, given the name and also independent from Sennheiser.

Speaking of a new $300 headphone bucking the trend........not to take away on Alex Grell's new baby but this Aune AR5000 looks interesting.

So depending where Grell Audio were to have their phones manufactured a $300 target could be realistic.
