It's difficult to say without knowing what they actually cost to produce. Odds are, they will be built in lower quantities than the HD58X and HD6XX units, which also reduces the economy of scale.

Without seeing the costs and quantities, I have no idea what a realistic price point is.

No longer having Sennheiser paying for the R&D and manufacturing it is difficult to know....

they will be built in lower quantities than the HD58X and HD6XX units, which also reduces the economy of scale.

Also with their novel driver placement aiming for a more speaker like presentation (my preference) they will be catering to another audience than those that love the more intimate in your head presentation of the HD6XX series and when they don't there is a backlash.

Yeah, I think they are trying for a higher end device than the HD6XX series, but that's only my impression.
