Have you guys seen this - Air Tunes on Indiegogo

It has a 8 band eq, compressor, reverb, etc. Also allows flac/alac playback. I got myself a premium version for $5 and beta starts in february. I was searching for a good player for android for a long time. What do you guys think about it. Unfortunately, I cannot post links.

My internet connection sucks right now and it can't load the page, but you might want to look into Neutron Music Player. 10 Band Parametric EQ with variable curve, Q, and center frequency. Does FLAC, has other controls like manually switching between generic and its own USB audio driver. Variable Crossfeed settings. Also has Replay Gain in case you have very high sensitivity IEMs and Loudness War recordings. Lots of other features but these are what I use.

They have released the beta version and its pretty epic - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=intellogic.synchrotone

Everything is as promised and the EQ is super responsive. Although it could distort if you go super crazy with it.

Pretty happy with the Reverb and the other effects as well. Found a new hobby of experimenting with those effects and songs.

Any EQ will cause distortion at some point. Technically speaking, EQ is distortion, intentionally introduced to reshape the signal, ideally to work out non-linearities in the drivers' response (and in-room/cabin response as with speakers). Past that, when boosting, you are technically forcing the drivers to do more than what it normally does at that frequency, hence  boosting has the innate risk of making the drivers behave in baiscally the ways that the listener can easily perceive as actual, aka undesirable, distortion. Like if you EQ too far with bass frequencies, you'll end up with overexcursion on the drivers.

Also, I'm not sure what they promised, but as much as I love the smoother interface vs NeutronMP, I'm not about to give up its DSP. The graphic EQ on AirTunes isn't even labelled for what frequency each is for, let alone allowing one to set a specific frequency and Q factor to really target peaks and plateaus on headphones and speakers. No crossfeed either. Neutron has nearly
all of Air Tunes' features barring "Cycore Bass" (whatever the heck that is), plus the parametric EQ and Crossfeed, plus several USB audio driver options. Also, while Neutron has a crappy landscape mode compared to how MediaMonkey apes (pun intended) the layout on dedicated music servers, AirTunes can't flip into landscape mode at all, which is a problem since my Note docks are horizontal owing to the sheer size of the phones.

If AirTunes can come up with at least the same features as Neutron's parametric EQ plus Crossfeed, plus a landscape mode that kinda looks like MM's (album art on left, all text and progress bar on right), I would get the paid version of the app just to get around Neutron's relatively cumbersome interface (although the current interface is still much easier to navigate than their first version).
